Steam Biological Indicator

Biological indicators are test systems containing viable microorganisms that provide a defined resistance to a specific sterilization process. A biological indicator provides information on whether the necessary conditions were met to kill a specified number of microorganisms for a given sterilization process, ensuring a high level of confidence in the process.

4A Steam Biological Indicators (3h and 24h) are specifically designed for monitoring steam sterilization processes at 121 – 134 °C. The final readout of a processed biological indicator, depending on the indicator type, should be made after 3 hours (4ARSBI) or 24 hours (4ASBI) of incubation at 60 +/- 2 °C.
